AceShowbiz - Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? According to the all-new trailer for the Netflix new animated series, the fan-favorite international thief is traveling around the world in new attitude.

The new trailer, which was dropped on Friday, January 4, features her ealier days when she joins V.I.L.E. training academy to become a professional thief. However, she seems to have a bit of a change of heart as she can be seen saying, "I realized stealing isn't a game. It does harm people. Especially when you're willing to steal lives."

That's when she becomes the iconic women in red she is now by only stealing from other thiefs.

"Nothing is holding me back, not anymore," Carmen says in the trailer, which is backed with an updated take on the classic theme song, as action-packed scenes are flickering on the screen. Toward the end of the video, Carmen is off to Indonesia for a mission.

Featuring voice by "Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez for the titular character, "Carmen Sandiego" is based on the character's '80s and '90s edutainment games and TV series. Also starring on the cartoon is "Stranger Things" actor Finn Wolfhard who voices Player, "Carmen's chief accomplice and friend."

Duane Capizzi, whose credit includes Cartoon Network's "The Batman", serves as the showrunner. Meanwhile, CJ Kettler of "The Tick" is executive producing the 20-part series. Each episode is set to clock in 22 minutes.

In addition to this, the streaming giant is developing a live-action Carmen Sandiego movie featuring Rodriguez as the woman in red. While the premiere date for the movie has yet to be known, the animated series is set to arrive on January 18 on Netflix.
