AceShowbiz - Barack Obama has accomplished many great things in his life, including becoming the first black president of the United States and signing a huge book deal. The former POTUS has recently added a new milestone to his long list of accomplishment after a gospel remix of "Hamilton" hit "One Last Time (44 Remix)", which featured him, debuted on Billboard's Hot R&B Songs chart this week.
Also featuring Broadway star Christopher Jackson and gospel singer Bebe Winans, the song arrived on the chart at No. 22. It racked up 307,000 on-demand U.S. streams and 9,000 downloads in the week ending December 27, according to Nielsen Music. Charting between the single were Queen Naija's "Butterflies" and John Legend's Esperanza Spalding-assisted "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas".
"One Last Time (44 Remix)" also debuted on R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart at No. 15, right in between a pair of tracks from the late XXXTentacion.
While the song marks Obama's first-charting single, he is already a two-time Grammy winner. The politician took home the Best Spoken Word trophy in both 2006 and 2008 for the audio versions of his books "Dreams from my Father" and "The Audacity of Hope" respectively.
"One Last Time (44 Remix)" was released by Lin-Manuel Miranda on December 22 as part of his "Hamildrops" series, which raises money for various nonprofits. The song's title is a reference to Obama, the 44th President of the United States. It featured Obama reciting a speech by the nation's first commander-in-chief, George Washington.
The original version of the song was first released in 2015. The cast of "Hamilton" have also performed this song for the Obama White House as they neared the end of their eight-year tenure. At the time, Obama led the room in a standing ovation.
