The Bravo host announces on his show 'Watch What Happens Live' that he's expecting his first child via surrogate.

AceShowbiz - Andy Cohen is about six weeks away from becoming a first-time father. The 50-year-old reality TV producer dropped the bomb in the Thursday, December 20 episode of his talk show "Watch What Happens Live".

"Tonight I want to share a little personal news of my own," he said at the end of the final live broadcast of 2018. "To the viewers at home, I call you my friends at home because we are friends. You have supported me through almost 10 years of live... This has been an incredible joyous journey with you all. I am grateful to be able to live my dream every day and grateful to you for coming along for the ride."

He continued, "And throughout it, I've always tried to be as transparent as possible about my life. I over share and I expect everyone around me to do the same." He emotionally revealed, "Tonight I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks time, I'm going to become a father thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future."

"Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something that I have wanted in my heart for my entire life," the executive producer of the "Real Housewives" franchise added. "Though it's taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet."

His announcement was met with cheer and claps from everyone in the studio. His fans have also expressed their excitement after hearing the news. "Omg I'm crying. At first, I thought you were quitting the show and I nearly died! But a [baby emoji] how wonderful and I love the way you revealed it," one commented on Andy's post of a clip from "WWHL".

Another echoed the sentiment on Twitter, writing, "My blood pressure skyrocketed thinking @Andy was quitting or ending housewives. So happy for him though lol."

Andy revealed during an interview on the "Allegedly" podcast in 2016 that one of his dreams that he hadn't accomplished yet was "being a father." When hosts Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss asked if he wanted a boy or girl, he replied, "I would just want someone healthy."

Andy is currently single after he split from boyfriend Clifton Dassuncao. "Yes, I am single again," he confirmed his relationship status in March of this year. The Emmy-winning producer was first reported dating the Harvard PhD student in April 2016.
