'Fiance' is a brilliant mix of hip-hop with elements of trot, a genre of Korean pop music, that sees the South Korean rapper relaying his longing for a future partner.

AceShowbiz - WINNER's Mino released the visuals for his new single "Fiance" on Monday, November 26. The rapper of the South Korean boy band is seen mixing modern and traditional in the new music video for the new single off his solo album "XX".

The visuals open with the 25-year-old rapper lying on a bed in such a dreamy scene, spitting verse in hypnotic strings about how he misses his lover, someone he can't have. The scene later changes into a traditional set in which he can be seen donning a king outfit with a slew of women sitting on the ground while blindfolded.

The scene takes everyone back to Joseon dynasty during wedding ceremonies. The music video also sees him being surrounded by women while he enjoys the music by performing the song and choreography. "I'll go wherever you are. I'll go," he declares at the end of the visuals before collapsing.

"Fiance" is a brilliant mix of hip-hop with elements of trot, a genre of Korean pop music known for its two-beat rhythm and distinct vocals. Writtten, composed and produced by Mino himself, the track samples the retro track "Miss Soyang River" which was originally recorded by 1970s Korean pop singer Kim Tae Hee. Also co-writing the song are Future Bounce and Texu.

"Fiance" serves as the lead single of Mino's first solo album "XX" that was also dropped on Monday. The 12-track album features him collaborating with a slew of other artists including Yoo Byung Jae, Blue.D and YDG.

His new album receives an "X" rating which is unusual for K-Pop artist. "I really didn’t see the X rating coming," the artist said during a press conference in Seoul on Monday. "Some of the songs may have got the rating because I wanted to have fun and do what I wanted while making the album with an open mind."

Alongside his group WINNER, Mino is set to embark on North American "Everywhere Tour" in early 2019.
