While making an appearance on 'Today', the 'Haven't Met You Yet' hitmaker explains what he learned from Noah's illness and how his faith helped him cope with any situation in his life.

AceShowbiz - Michael Buble still has a difficult time watching anything that references his young son's cancer battle, insisting he just wants to focus on the good in his family's future.

The "Haven't Met You Yet" hitmaker's son Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016, prompting the crooner to take a hiatus from the spotlight to be at home with his family.

Noah has since made a full recovery and now his dad wants to get on with life after a gruelling couple of years for the family.

"It sucks, it hurts, and we've gone through so many hard times and we've dealt with this and I've had to now answer the questions," Michael told U.S. breakfast show "Today" on Monday, November 19. "It's so much fun for me to be able to sort of not look back at the past and look forward to the future, be excited about life for our family and my boy and everything. So I wanted to just get away and get focused on the good stuff."

The singer explains his son's illness has taught him to see the positive things that can come out of pain.

"When you go through things like this, that are so painful..., you learn a lot about life and what's important and what matters and you stop sweating the small stuff because you realise that most of the stuff is the small stuff," he said.

And he credits his faith with helping him deal with everything that comes along in his life - even if he is hesitant to talk about it.

"I love being a dad and I love being able to share that feeling with the kids...," he added. "I think that may be the most personal relationship I have in my life and it's why I'm so, I'm proud of it, but I'm reticent to talk about it because I don't share what so many other people (believe). They have many different ideas of what their faith is, so I'm so open to know that I know nothing."
