Aside from the pieces for the 'Believe' hitmaker, the fashion designer is also putting designs he created for Carol Burnett, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Raquel Welch and Lauren Bacall under the hammer.

AceShowbiz - A selection of Cher's Bob Mackie designs will be hitting the auction block in Los Angeles this weekend (November 17-18).

Mackie's work with Cher is one of the most famous partnerships in entertainment, with the designer creating some of the "If I Could Turn Back Time" star's most iconic looks, including the revealing black beaded two-piece she wore to the 1986 Oscars complete with plumed headdress.

Going under the hammer at Julien's Auctions' Icons and Idols: Hollywood, Street and Contemporary Art sale on Saturday, Mackie is parting ways with some of his treasured pieces.

"We sort of talked about doing this a year and a half ago," Mackie told The Hollywood Reporter as he takes a break from stage musical "The Cher Show", in previews on Broadway. "We picked out things that were fun, ones that I actually own, 'cause Cher owns all of her stuff. So, I have them for one reason or another. I didn't steal them!".

Among the lots is the 1974 Academy Awards custom-made hand-painted silk ensemble comprising of a cape, a bandeau top with scarf and a low waisted layered skirt, which is estimated to reach between $4,000-$6,000, and the spaghetti strapped jersey gown Cher wore on "The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour", which looks set to fetch between $3,000-$5,000.

In addition to pieces designed for the 72-year-old megastar, Mackie is also auctioning off designs he made for Carol Burnett, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Raquel Welch and Lauren Bacall.

Also this weekend, bidders will get the chance to buy a black Ford Thunderbird owned by Marilyn Monroe, and the wedding dress murdered actress Sharon Tate wore to her 1968 marriage to Roman Polanski.
