Speaking in a BBC documentary for Charles' upcoming 70th birthday, Prince Harry revealed how the Duke of Cornwall saved his and Meghan's royal wedding in May.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's days before their May royal wedding was filled with dramas. Starting to the paparazzi photos scandal surrounding Meghan's father Thomas Markle to him having a heart attack that eventually stopped him from attending the nuptials, there was seemingly no peace day for the couple, who is now expecting their first child together.

However, Prince Charles came out to save the day as he took over the retired Hollywood light director's place to walk the Duchess of Sussex down the aisle on her and his son's big day. Speaking in a BBC documentary created in honor of Charles' upcoming 70th birthday, Harry revealed how the Duke of Cornwall reacted when he asked him for help.

"I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming, and he immediately said 'yes, of course, I'll do whatever Meghan needs and I'm here to support you,' " shared the Duke of Sussex.

Harry added, "For him that's a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support and you know he's our father so of course he's gonna be there for us."

During the nuptials, it could be notably seen when Prince Harry thanked his father as he reached the altar in the chapel with Meghan. Of the moment, the 34-year-old royal said, "I've been brought up well, you've gotta say thank you. Just because he's my father doesn't mean I can sort of go, 'Ok that's all, I'll take i from here.' " He continued, "Errr, no! That is what I wanted to say but I was very grateful for him to be able to do that."

Prince Charles' wife Camilla also weighed in on the touching moment. "I think that was very touching, sitting where I was, you couldn't hear what he said. But afterwards watching it on the television, I think... it was a lovely gesture," the Duchess of Cornwall said.

Meghan and Harry announced the pregnancy news on October 15, just hours after the royal couple landed on Australia. "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019," Kensington Palace wrote on Twitter. "Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."
