The 'Iron Man 2' villain has also signed up to star in the crime drama that will reunite him with 'Adverse' director and producer Brian Metcalf.

AceShowbiz - Mickey Rourke will make his debut as a producer on crime drama "Twilight Into Darkness".

"The Wrestler" actor will also star in the film, about a detective who becomes obsessed with catching a child killer, according to Variety. Mickey and Brian Metcalf will produce under Rourke's Ruby Baby Limited company.

Metcalf has written the screenplay and will direct the project, which marks the second movie Rourke and Metcalf have collaborated on, following "Adverse", which is currently filming.

"I had a wonderful time working with the innovative, talented director Brian Metcalf," Rourke says. "The young man has incredible integrity and vision. He has gained my respect."

"I'm excited to be collaborating with Mickey Rourke again as he is one of the greatest legendary talents alive today," Metcalf adds. "His commitment and dedication to his work is truly impressive. It's an amazing experience working with him."
