The 25-year-old diva also takes to Twitter to assure fans that she did the name-dropping on the song with their consent.

AceShowbiz - If you think Ariana Grande singing about her exes, including Pete Davidson, Mac Miller and Big Sean, on her newly-released song "Thank U, Next" indicates that they are on bad terms, you can't be more wrong. One of her exes, Ricky Alvarez, responded to Ariana's latest single and it was hilarious!

Ricky, who dated the "God Is a Woman" hitmaker, took to Instagram Stories to share a video of him listening to the song. The black-and-white clip saw him jamming to the track before turning to the camera and looking confused as Ariana sings, "Wrote some songs about Ricky/ Now I listen and laugh."

"Hahahahahahah, I'm sorry you got the worst line @rickyrozay it was meant v lovingly," Ariana added in the caption.

Following the funny video, Ricky shared another post that further proved that he's all fine with the song. "nothing but gratitude. thank u, next," he wrote. Seemingly referencing to the songs the "No Tears Left to Cry" songstress, he added, "those songs are fire tho.... you're welcome."

Ariana did say that "Thank U, Next" wasn't a diss track. The new song sees her serenading, "Thought I'd end up with Sean/ But he wasn't a match/ Wrote some songs about Ricky/ Now I listen and laugh/ Even almost got married/ And for Pete, I'm so thankful/ Wish I could say 'thank you' to Malcolm/ 'Cause he was an angel."

"One taught me love/ One taught me patience/ And one taught me pain/ Now I'm so amazing/ Say I've loved and I' ve lost/ But that's not what I see/ So look what I got/ Look what you taught me/ And for that I say/ Thank u, next/ Thank u, next/ Thank u, next," she sings in the chorus. "I'm so f***ing grateful for my ex," she continued.

The 25-year-old diva also assured fans that she did the name-dropping with their consent. "they heard it before it came out :)" she responded to a fan who joked about Sean and Ricky being surprised after hearing their names on the song.

"Thank U, Next" is about growth and self-love, according to Ariana. "i truly am grateful. no matter how painful! i'm thankful and i love u," she tweeted after the song shot to the top of the iTunes charts on Sunday, November 4.
