Filmed in New York City, the music video for the self-love anthem features her and some others coping with heartbreak in different ways at the same hotel.

AceShowbiz - Carly Rae Jepsen is back and certainly has no time to cry over a heartbreak. The Canadian singer-songwriter unearthed a new single entitled "Party for One" along with its music video on Thursday, November 1.

Written by herself and Tavish Crowe, the pop banger talks about celebrating yourself in spite of heartbreak because self-love is more important than yearning for someone else's affection. "Party for one/ if you don't care about me/ I'll just dance for myself/ Back on my beat," she rhymes over the bubbly beats.

The video itself, which was filmed in New York City, features her and some other people coping with heartbreak in different ways at the same hotel. There's a person who chooses to go with the most classic way by crying, but there are other people who dance in their underwear, take bubble bath, masturbate and even play with sex toys.

Towards the end of the video, the lights in the hotel go out, prompting these people to come together in the hotel lobby. Carly is obviously there too, comforting a woman who is still crying over her split. But once the lights come back, the lady seems to be brightened up as she joins the singer and others in an obligatory dance party.

"To me 'Party for One' is an anthem of what it is to celebrate time with yourself, which is a hard thing for people to really enjoy sometimes, and it's something I'm learning to do more and more," Carly said of the track in a statement. "This song represents a lot of what this album is about for me, which is romantic love but self-love too."

"Party for One" is among the new material for her forthcoming album, allegedly titled "99 Cent Dreams". There's still no official release date for the highly-anticipated record.
