Movie

The 'Pitch Perfect' star takes advantage of living in an alternate universe by hooking up with Liam Hemsworth several times.

AceShowbiz - Rebel Wilson will make girls dare to dream again about their fantasy boyfriends with her new movie "Isn't It Romantic". The Australian actress stars as Natalie, a cynical woman who doesn't believe in love, after her mom crushed her dream to live out a romantic movie that she watched as a kid.

That, however, changes when she hits her head one day and wakes up in a sort of an alternate universe, where everything looks more beautiful to her. A much bigger apartment with a giant closet is just a small thing to start with.

"I think I might be going crazy," she says to herself, before telling her best friend (Adam Devine) about what has happened to her. "I hit my head really hard and I woke up in this alternate universe. And now I have a gay sidekick who's setting gay rights back, like, a hundred years," she tries to explain.

She then realizes that she's trapped in a cheesy romantic comedy, but doesn't seem to mind it after she meets with Liam Hemsworth's Blake, a handsome client, who sets his eyes on her. Making the most of the moment, Natalie jumps into Blake in the morning after they spent the night together.

According to the official synopsis, "New York City architect Natalie works hard to get noticed at her job but is more likely to be asked to deliver coffee and bagels than to design the city's next skyscraper. And if things weren't bad enough, Natalie, a lifelong cynic when it comes to love, has an encounter with a mugger that renders her unconscious, waking to discover that her life has suddenly become her worst nightmare-a romantic comedy-and she is the leading lady."

Wilson told Ellen DeGeneres about the movie when she appeared on the latter's talk show, "It's about a girl who hates romantic comedies, which I did in real life because I didn't feel like they were real and then I get flung into a world of romantic comedies and I have two love interests in the film because why not?"

Priyanka Chopra stars as yoga ambassador Isabella, who seemingly falls for Devine's Josh. Tom Ellis also appears briefly in the video as a handsome doctor who treats Natalie, while Betty Gilpin stars as Whitney, Natalie's assistant and one of her best friends, and Brandon Scott Jones plays Donny, Natalie's gay sidekick.

Directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson, the film is written by Erin Cardillo, Dana Fox and Katie Silberman. It is set to be released on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2019 in the United States.
