Saint Luke's East Hospital confirms it has fired its employee who is deemed as racist for posting photos of herself and her husband wearing blackface to channel Beyonce and Jay-Z for Halloween.

AceShowbiz - A nurse's blackface costume has cost her her job. A Missouri woman named Shelbi Elliott-Heenan is fired after she shared photos on social media showing her dressing up in blackface as Beyonce Knowles, alongside her husband, also in blackface, to channel Jay-Z.

Her blackface Halloween costume, of course, was deemed offensive and sparked online backlash. Someone apparently notified the hospital she worked at, Saint Luke's Health System hospital in Kansas City, which subsequently dismissed her from her position following an investigation.

The hospital confirms the termination in a statement shared to media. "On Monday afternoon, Saint Luke's Health System became aware of a Saint Luke's East Hospital employee who posted photos on personal social media accounts of her and another individual dressed in blackface for what appears to be a Halloween event. This information was shared with appropriate health system personnel and an investigation was initiated immediately," says a hospital spokesperson in the statement.

The statement continues to read, "While it is against Saint Luke's policy to comment on specific personnel matters, we can confirm that this individual is no longer a Saint Luke's employee. Saint Luke's is deeply committed to our culture of diversity and inclusion. It is fundamental to who we are as an organization and we vigorously protect it on behalf of all our patients and employees and expect those who represent us to do the same."

News of Heenan's firing comes a week after Megyn Kelly came under fire for defending white people who do blackface for Halloween. She has reportedly been fired as the host of "Megyn Kelly Today", but NBC News has not officially announced her departure. She is now said in talks to join ABC's "The View".
