Appearing on 'Today', the Emmy-winning actress uses the opportunity to elaborate her much talk-about remarks about her past marriage to the 'Mummy' actor in recent interview.

AceShowbiz - After her remarks about her marriage to Tom Cruise saving her from sexual harassment went viral, Nicole Kidman is apparently trying to do a damage control. During her appearance on "Today" show on Monday, October 22, the "Big Little Lies" actress clarified what she actually meant by the statement and how exactly it protected her.

"I'm saying because I was married at 23 years old, I wasn't going to parties, or I wasn't going out a lot," the 50-year-old Emmy-winning actress explained to co-anchors Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie. "I was pretty much at home. I had my first child at 25 and I was married. I was in a family so, my sense of being in the world was I was working or I was at home."

Nicole, who married the "Top Gun" star from 1990 to 2001, previously said in a New York magazine interview, "I married for love, but being married to an extremely powerful man kept me from being sexually harassed."

She used the opportunity to elaborate that part, saying, "I think when you're married to a very powerful man, I mean, I'm not in a male's mind but .... when I said protection, I think there's almost like a barrier a lot of women don't have -- that a lot of people in the world don't have."

But it seems like the "Boy Erased" actress is also done talking about Tom or her other exes. "I also don’t like discussing exes and all of that because I’m married," the Australian star, who is currently happily married to Keith Urban, shared. "I'm very happily married. I have two little girls and I think it's almost disrespectful, one, to Tom, and disrespectful to Keith, so I try to stay in the here and now."
