Sharing the artwork from the upcoming Disney movie, the actor hints that his character is trapped inside the lamp.

AceShowbiz - Will Smith has shared the first official artwork of his upcoming movie "Aladdin". He took to his Instagram account on Wednesday, October 10 to reveal the Disney's movie poster. Featuring the iconic gold genie lamp, it has a tagline which reads, "Choose wisely."

Teasing about his magical character, the actor captioned it, "LEMME OUT!! :-) Can't wait for y'all to see Me BLUE! :-) #aladdin." Smith hinted that his character is trapped inside the lamp. He's playing the bubbly and comedic Genie, who has the nigh omnipotent power to grant three wishes to whomever possesses his magic lamp.

Directed by Guy Ritchie with the script provided by John August, it is a live-action re-imagination of the animated Disney film. The original film, which was released in 1992, featured the late comedian Robin Williams as the voice of Genie.

The upcoming movie stars Canadian actor Mena Massoud as the title character, an Agrabah thief who is smitten with the Sultan's daughter. "Power Rangers" star Naomi Scott is cast as Princess Jasmine, the Sultan's daughter. Navid Negahban portrays The Sultan.

Marwan Kenzari plays the evil sorcerer Jafar, while Numan Acar portrays Hakim, Jafar's right-hand man and head of the palace guards. Billy Magnussen and Nasim Pedrad are tapped to portray new characters who did not appear in the original movie. The former is playing Prince Anders, a suitor and potential husband for Princess Jasmine from the kingdom of Scanland, while Pedrad's character is named Dalia and is described as Princess Jasmine's loyal handmaiden and confidante.

The movie is due out May 24, 2019 in the United States. It recently underwent a reshoot reportedly to give the movie a more Middle-Eastern feel.
