AceShowbiz - Some of Aretha Franklin's most iconic fashion pieces are set to hit the auction block later this year.

Julien's Auctions officials will sell over 30 dresses and accessories from the late legend on 10 November at the Icons & Idols: Rock-n-Roll event at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York, in addition to offering wares online.

"Julien's Auctions is honoured to present this auction event celebrating the tremendous talents, power and grace of America's greatest singer of all time, Aretha Franklin," Martin Nolan, Executive Director of Julien's Auctions, says in a statement. "On and off the stage, Ms. Franklin was also a great fashion legend and this collection of her most show stopping looks demonstrates why she was not only the Queen Of Soul but the Queen Of Style."

Some of the items featured in the auction include a red sequined outfit she wore while performing on stage in 1991 at the Big Apple's Radio City Music Hall, a St. John jacket from the National Medal of Arts ceremony with U.S. President Bill Clinton in Washington, D.C. in 1999, and a light green suit she donned on TV for Oprah Winfrey's 40th birthday.

Each item is expected to sell for between $800 (£600) and $4,000 (£3,100).

Aretha was known for her fashion and that remained true to the very end, with the singer undergoing four wardrobe changes during her four-day celebration of life in Detroit, Michigan, which concluded with her funeral on August 31.

Franklin died from pancreatic cancer on August 16, aged 76.
