The 'Wrestler' star was sued by financial officials last year over outstanding American Express credit card bill.

AceShowbiz - Actor Mickey Rourke has been slapped with a default judgement and ordered to settle an outstanding American Express credit card bill.

The Wrestler star was sued by financial officials last year (17) after he allegedly racked up just over $51,000 (£39,000) in charges, and failed to pay off the invoice.

American Express bosses ended up cancelling Rourke's account when he didn't respond to requests for payment, and it appears he also ignored their lawsuit notice, as he did not file a response to the legal action.

According to The Blast, credit card chiefs requested a default judgement as a result of his lack of action, and on 20 August, their motion was granted, with the judge overseeing the case ordering Rourke to cut a cheque for the full amount, in addition to interest and other costs.

The 65 year old has yet to comment on the ruling.
