The movie's star-studded cast includes Jeff Bridges, Dakota Johnson and Jon Hamm, who play guests at a rundown hotel with a dark past.

AceShowbiz - 20th Century Fox has released a new official trailer for "Bad Times at the El Royale". Boasting an all-star cast, the movie stars Jeff Bridges, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Cynthia Erivo and more as guests at the titular hotel, which is located in Lake Tahoe on the California-Nevada border.

According to the official synopsis, there are seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, who meet at Lake Tahoe's El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption... before everything goes to hell.

Bridges plays Father Daniel Flynn, a former criminal turned priest. "Can I confess something to you? I'm not really a priest," he tells a concierge, played by Lewis Pullman, when he's warned that the hotel is not a place for him.

Hamm plays Laramie Seymour Sullivan, a vacuum cleaner salesman. Johnson stars as Emily Summerspring, a Southern gangster. The video also features Chris Hemsworth as Billy Lee, a charismatic cult leader, Erivo as Darlene Sweet, a former singer, and Cailee Spaeny as Emily's sister, an impressionable Southern girl and a cult member.

Things get murky when Hamm's character finds a room that allow someone to watch over the guests in their rooms. "Sir, we have a problem," he tells someone on the phone. Meanwhile, the concierge tells Father Daniel that he only watches who the management tells him to watch.

Someone gets shot and Hemsworth's Billy tells Johnson's Emily that he's going to hunt her for taking something that belongs to him. Emily sports a bruised eye, but she's prepared and is armed. She apparently can't trust anyone as he refuses to let Laramie enter her room.

The concierge is seen being bloodied with his mouth gagged in another scene, while Darlene is surprised by Father Daniel's confession. The concierge, in the meantime, admits that he's done horrible things.

The movie also stars Jim O'Heir as Milton Wyrick, with Nick Offerman, Mark O'Brien and Russell Crowe landing undisclosed roles. Written and directed by Drew Goddard ("The Cabin in the Woods"), it is set to arrive in U.S. theaters on October 12.
