AceShowbiz - Babylon 5 star Bruce Boxleitner has stepped in to replace Brent Spiner in TV's Supergirl after a scheduling conflict forced the Star Trek favourite to pull out.

Spiner had recently signed on to portray Vice President Baker, opposite former Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter's President Olivia Marsdin, in the show, but he has since had to withdraw from the role after filming dates clashed with a family matter.

Now producers have brought Boxleitner on board to fill in ahead of the upcoming season four, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The new episodes of Supergirl, starring Melissa Benoist in the titular role, debut in October.
