AceShowbiz - Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus have called it quits. The pair reportedly decide to end their romance after dating for over a year.
The 46-year-old actor and the "Saturday Night Live" producer were last seen photographed together in late July, during their trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico. A source claims that the "Justice League" star was "never really committed" to Lindsay to begin with.
"They really tried to make it work and they just couldn't right now," another source reveals. "Their families came first, but ultimately having a bi-coastal relationship was difficult. They're amicable."
It is also reported that "distance" between him being based in Los Angeles while Lindsay being based in New York plays a big role in their split. "They are still very amicable and have stayed friends," another source adds. "Family comes first for them both."
Lindsay, meanwhile, has since deleted her Instagram account. She was not very active on the photo-sharing site, though she occasionally posted about her job as "Saturday Night Live" producer. Her recent post was about a Girl's Lounge event.
The breakup news arrives after Ben was spotted hanging out with 22-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton in several occasions. The two sparked romance rumors after being snapped together at Nobu restaurant on last Thursday night, August 16. An onlooker said, "She looked very cute, and he seemed interested."
Their rendezvouz didn't stop there apparently, as the rumored lovebirds were later photographed making a fast food run at a Jack In the Box drive-thru in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 19. Of their relationship, a source reveals that Ben and Shauna are currently "having fun, it's light."
Ben is currently in nearing a final divorce settlement with estranged wife Jennifer Garner. The two stars, however, were allegedly warned that their divorce filing might be dismissed if they failed to update their case. Rumor had it, Jennifer wouldn't finalize their divorce unless Ben was 100% clean as the actor has struggled with addiction to alcohol.
