'I was just giving Kevin Hart c**p because he runs all the time. He's just the running man,' the rapper says of his friend.

AceShowbiz - Nick Cannon hates running, unlike his friend Kevin Hart.

Fitness has always been crucial for the actor and comedian, but it took on a new level of importance after he was diagnosed with lupus in 2012.

His exercise regime consists of core training, martial arts and bar training, though Nick avoids running at all costs.

"I hate running," he stated to GQ America. "I was just giving Kevin Hart c**p because he runs all the time. He's just the running man. I'm not running unless somebody is chasing me. So I do a lot of martial arts, kickboxing, and boxing. I was really into boxing for a long time. If I do too much cardio, though, I'll lose weight. And I don't want to lose weight."

Nick's lupus diagnosis saw him overhaul his diet too, and he cut out pork and processed meats, though he's loosened up on his former strict eating plan, and enjoys most foods in moderation.

The 37-year-old also turned to meditation to ease the painful symptoms of lupus, an autoimmune disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs.

"A lot of issues with autoimmune diseases are exacerbated by stress, so I work as hard as possible to have a stress-free life," the father-of-three explained. "I've found key people to surround myself with. Sometimes you don't even realise the things in your life that stress you out. It could be as simple as, like, the traffic you sit in regularly. My body just reacts to that stuff in a physical manner. I'd rather fly at a higher frequency."
