AceShowbiz - BBC America's breakout drama "Killing Eve" will expand its cast for the upcoming second season. The network announces that Nina Sosanya ("Good Omens"), Edward Bluemel ("A Discovery of Witches") and Julian Barratt ("Mindhorn)" have been added to the cast.

Sosanya and Bluemel will be joining Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Sandra Oh as series regular on the series, which was produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd and based on the Codename Villanelle novellas by Luke Jennings. Meanwhile, Barratt is set to guest star. Detail of their characters has yet to be announced.

Hailing from "Fleabag" creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, "Killing Eve" earned massive success with its first season which had impressive weekly ratings growth in the key adults 25-54 and 18-49 demos. Season 1 also earned Oh an Emmy nomination in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category as well as a nomination in a drama series writing for Waller-Bridge. "Killing Eve" additionally was dubbed Best New Show by the Television Critics Association.

"Killing Eve" focuses on two women, Eve (Oh) and Villanelle (Jodie Comer). Oh is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade security services operative whose desk-bound job doesn’t fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Meanwhile, Villanelle (Comer) is an elegant, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. These two fiercely intelligent women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.

Season 1 director Damon Thomas will return to his directing duty in the upcoming new season alongside Lisa Bruhlmann and Francesca Gregorini. Additionally, he will serve as executive producer. Also executive producing are Waller-Brige, Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris, Gina Mingacci, and Emerald Fennell, while Oh is co-executive producing. The sophomore season is currently filming in Europe.
