A Conservative street artist admits that he is responsible for making the fake ones with his team, saying that it costs them $1,000.

AceShowbiz - After Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was destroyed by a pickax-wielding critic on July 26, a number of fake stars with the president's name on it mysteriously appeared on Thursday, August 9. The fake stars can be seen filling several empty spaces on the iconic sidewalk. A conservative street artist admitted that he is responsible for making the fake stars.

The street artist and his team, who call themselves The Faction, stated that they laminated vinyl stars, completed with adhesive backing, before placing them on the blank squares. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "a young and anonymous entrepreneur" financed the team as the fake stars cost them $1,000.

The artist stated that he was motivated by the vandalism and the West Hollywood City Council's recent vote to remove Trump's star. "Rip up the president's Walk of Fame star or try to have it removed, like you're the mayor of West Hollywood or something, and 30 more will pop up," the anonymous artist told the site.

"I didn't want to get hit over the head from behind. We thought Trump Derangement Syndrome was a joke, but I'm pretty sure it's real," he added. "If no one peels these off, they could last there for 10 years."

Although the artist claimed the fake stars would last for 10 years, an employee of "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" said that those stars unfortunately had to be destroyed. "We didn't want to have what happened to the old star here," the employee explained the reason. "Not only would the star be destroyed, but it would damage our property."

The current president of the United States received the Walk of Fame honor in 2007 for his reality TV show "The Apprentice", which was named as one of America's most popular TV shows.
