AceShowbiz - It hasn't been long since J. Cole released his latest album "KOD", but the rapper has a new offering for fans. He unleashed on Tuesday, August 7 a new song entitled "Album of the Year (Freestyle)" along with its music video.

Directed by Simon David, the visuals opens with a message which read, "What you are about to witness is a master class on preparation. The Off Season." The "Kevin's Heart" hitmaker then is seen delivering his lines in various locations, including a graffiti-filled tunnel and in front of a convenience store.

"How many black addicts that got caught up in the system/ With no sob stories on your prime time television, I can smell a blatant contradiction," he raps over Nas and the Bravehearts' "Oochie Wally", adding that his fifth album is "album of the year, undebatably."

But the new song and music video weren't the only things that Cole offered to his fans. In the video's description, he revealed that he's currently working on a new mixtape called "The Off Season", which would serve as a prelude to his next album "The Fall Off". He wrote, " 'The Off Season' coming soon... All roads lead to 'The Fall Off'."

Details of the new project are still under wraps. It's also unknown when the effort will be released, but many speculate that it will arrive soon.

"The Off Season" will be a follow-up to his album "KOD", which hit the stores on April 20 and debuted atop Billboard 200 chart. It also broke streaming records on both Spotify and Apple Music. Two singles off the set, "KOD" and "ATM", debuted in the top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

Cole is currently gearing up for his eighth headlining concert in support of the album, with Young Thug serving as the opening act. The trek will launch on August 9 in Miami and conclude on October 10 in Boston.
