NBC Universal is interested in picking up the show for syndication with a potential launch in autumn 2019.

AceShowbiz - Pop star Kelly Clarkson is eyeing a return to TV as the host of her own daytime talk show.

The Because of You hitmaker, who shot to fame as the winner of the first season of American Idol, is shooting the pilot episode of a new series, although specific details about the project have yet to be revealed.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, bosses at U.S. network NBCUniversal are interested in picking up the show for syndication with a potential launch in autumn 2019, although a deal has yet to be made.

Kelly has not commented on the rumours of her new venture, but she previously tested her hosting skills as the emcee for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards in May.

She followed up the gig with a stint as a guest co-host on breakfast show Today, which also airs on NBC, in June.

If the series gets picked up, Kelly, who currently serves as a coach on reality show The Voice, will become the latest musician-turned-talk show host to head to daytime TV.

Rapper/actress Eve joined The Talk last year (17), while Harry Connick, Jr. will wrap up his two-season run on Harry this September.

And another former Idol star, Kellie Pickler, is currently gearing up to return to the small screen with Pickler & Ben, a chat show she hosts with New York TV personality Ben Aaron. The programme, filmed in Nashville, Tennessee and co-produced by singer Faith Hill, debuted last summer and was renewed for a second season earlier this year.
