According to Kelly O'Hara, the Broadway actress 'is singing like an angel and commanding the stage with a heavenly force.'

AceShowbiz - Ruthie Ann Miles returned to the stage for the first time after suffering a double family tragedy earlier this year.

The actress' four-year-old daughter Abigail was killed in Brooklyn, New York in March after a driver allegedly ignored a red light and hit pedestrians crossing the street. Miles had been walking with her friend, Lauren Lew, whose one-year-old son Joshua was also fatally struck.

The star, who was pregnant at the time, was hospitalised in a critical but stable condition, and in May, it was revealed Ruthie and her husband, Jonathan Blumenstein, had also lost their unborn child at 39 weeks.

In June, it was reported Miles would take to the stage as Lady Thiang in the West End run of The King and I a few weeks after the tragedies, but she did not make her appearance in the stageshow until Friday, August 03.
