The 'Christopher Robin' star admits he's 'never really very good at doing nothing or not having anything to do,' but he enjoyed it.

AceShowbiz - Ewan McGregor was very busy doing "nothing" during his Hollywood hiatus.

The Scottish actor is currently promoting Disney's "Christopher Robin", a live-action movie about a man who has grown up and lost his sense of imagination, only to be reunited with his old stuffed bear friend, Winnie-the-Pooh.

Ewan wrapped on the shoot last November and has been on holiday ever since.

"I've taken maybe a six-month break in all the years I've been working, but this time I took a long chunk of time off," he said during an appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Wednesday night (August 01). "I didn't know how I would deal with it either because I was never really very good at doing nothing or not having anything to do. I'd usually take a break, knowing I had a film coming up. And this time I just had space."

"I really enjoyed it. I can't really tell you what I did but doing nothing was quite busy."

Ewan went on to sing a verse of "Busy Doing Nothing", the song Bing Crosby performed in 1949 movie "Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court".

In addition, he shared that he had spent his free time with his four daughters, riding his motorcycles and walking his dog - though he didn't mention his rumoured actress girlfriend, and Fargo co-star, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who he has reportedly been dating since splitting from his wife Eve Mavrakis last year.

"I was working and feeling like I didn't have time for those things. I was thinking, what am I working for?" the 47-year-old sighed.

Ewan's next project will be an adaptation of Stephen King's "Doctor Sleep", in which he will play an older Danny Torrance, from "The Shining", with filming due to kick off later in the year.
