AceShowbiz - Despite already denying the rumors, Jennifer Lopez appeared to fuel her engagement rumors with Alex Rodriguez when she was seen sporting a diamond ring in her recent pics. But before it gets out of hands, the retired baseball player set the record straight on the rumors during his appearance on "Today" on Wednesday, August 1.
When asked about the rumored engagement ring by hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, Alex replied, "I did give her that ring. I gave her that ring probably about four or five months ago. So I got her that ring. She loved it and look how beautiful she looks."
Making fans of the couple disappointed, he then explained that the ring was not an engagement ring. "Of course it has a significance," the New York-born hunk noted, before adding, "[But] no, we're not engaged. We're not engaged."
Rumors of their engagement first sparked when Jenny released her Spanish song "El Anillo". Both the diva and her hunky beau debunked the rumors, but she continued fueling the rumors by sporting a massive diamond ring during their trip to the Bahamas.
Jenny and Alex have been inseparable since they started dating in February 2017. However, Alex admitted in the interview that their relationship would not last if they dated when they were younger. "To be honest, if this happened while we were in out 20s, it would've never happened," he confessed. "Boys, we've got to get our dumbness out of the way."
He continued, "It was just too much craziness. I wasn't mature enough. We're both in our 40s, we're both from New York. We both come from Latino backgrounds, we both have two kids. We've both been through a lot and can really appreciate each other, both the good and the challenges."
