AceShowbiz - A representative for Cheryl has denied claims she is dating a "mystery man".

Reports circled over the weekend (July 28-29) claiming the "Fight For This Love" singer has a new love interest, one month after her split from former One Direction star Liam Payne, whom she shares 16-month-old son Bear with.

According to editors at British magazine Now, the star has been enjoying a number of dates and text exchanges with a fellow member of the showbiz industry while her former beau holidays in Cannes, France.

"Cheryl has been enjoying dates with someone she calls 'her crutch'," an insider reportedly told the news outlet. "It's someone in the showbiz industry and although it's very early days, they've been enjoying coffee ‘dates' at her home and exchanging endless WhatsApps."

But a representative for the popstar has since blasted the reports as untrue.

"There is no truth to these ridiculous claims," they told WENN on Monday.

The British singers, who began dating in 2016, announced their separation earlier this month in joint statements posted to their Twitter accounts. Labelling it a "tough decision", they insisted they still have love for one another as a family and called for privacy as they prioritise their son Bear.

Meanwhile, fans are certain the Familiar hitmaker is plotting to release a tell-all single detailing the breakdown of their relationship, after his friend Abdullah Elkhereiji seemingly shared a snippet of the new song to his Instagram Stories on Friday.

According to British newspaper The Sun, the footage showed the pair and two other friends singing along to the "unmistakable" sound of Liam in a previously unheard song, in which he reportedly sings: "Call you, but you never did/ You're playing feelings like it's truth or dare."

Song lyrics also allegedly included: "I don't want to be the one to tell you when it's over/ Everything you do, it drives me..." before being cut short.
