Other highlights of the festival line-up, which was announced on Wednesday, July 25, include the Coen brothers' western The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, director Alfonso Cuaron's Roma, Paul Greengrass' Netflix movie 22 July, which chronicles the aftermath of the 2011 massacre of 77 people in Norway by far-right militant Anders Breivik, and Yorgos Lanthimos' period drama The Favourite, featuring Emma Stone, Olivia Colman, and Rachel Weisz.

Other films in competition include Mike Leigh's Peterloo, Werk Ohne Autor by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, and Vincent van Gogh biopic At Eternity’s Gate.

Bradley Cooper's directorial debut A Star is Born will also screen out of competition, as will Dragged Across Concrete, starring Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn.
