A-list stars, including Diana Ross, Celine Dion and Paul McCartney, reportedly also refused to attend the funeral of Michael Jackson's father.

AceShowbiz - Joe Jackson's private funeral was supposed to be a star-studded affair, if Radar Online is to be trusted. According to the site, a number of A-list stars turned down invitation to attend the private funeral which was held at Forest Lawn in Glendale, California on July 2.

The invited celebrities, which were said including Bruno Mars, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z as well as music veterans Diana Ross, Liza Minnelli, Quincy Jones, Celine Dion and Paul McCartney, all said "they can't make it" and were indeed not seen at the Monday funeral.

Famous civil rights activist Al Sharpton, however, reportedly agreed to come and might deliver a eulogy.

Janet Jackson and other family members were spotted at the funeral on Monday afternoon. Wearing all-black ensemble, she was seen carrying Eissa Al Mana, her son with her ex-husband Wissam Al Mana.

Michael Jackson was also laid to rest at Forest Lawn following his death in 2009. The late King of Pop is entombed in a mausoleum at the cemetery and it's safe to say that Joe's final resting place is nearby.

Joe passed away on June 27 at the age of 89 in hospice care in Las Vegas after battling pancreatic cancer. He had several health issues prior to his final moments, including a series of strokes in 2013 and another stroke in 2015. He also suffered three heart attacks. Earlier this year, he was hospitalized following a car crash in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife Katherine Jackson, his children, Maureen Jackson, Sigmund Jackson, Tito Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, La Toya Jackson, Marlon Jackson, Randy Jackson (II), Janet Jackson and Joh'Vonnie Jackson, and several grandchildren. He and Katherine also had a son, Brandon Jackson, who died just after he was born.
