AceShowbiz - British monarch Queen Elizabeth II pulled out of a special service at St Paul's Cathedral on Thursday, June 28, due to ill health.
The 92-year-old royal was due to attend the famed London cathedral on Thursday morning to mark the 200th anniversary of the Order of St Michael and St George, an order of chivalry awarded in recognition of distinguished service in connection with foreign affairs and service overseas.
However, a spokeswoman for Buckingham Palace announced at the last minute that she had withdrawn from the engagement and her cousin Prince Edward, Duke of Kent - Grand Master of the Order - would go in her place.
"The Queen is feeling under the weather today and has decided not to attend this morning's service at St Paul's Cathedral marking the 200th anniversary of the Order of Michael and St George," the statement read. "Her Majesty will be represented by the Duke of Kent as the grand master of the order."
According to reports, the monarch, who underwent eye surgery to treat a cataract in May, is battling a summer cold and has not called a doctor. She is still scheduled to travel to Windsor, England for the weekend and to attend engagements in Scotland next week.
The service was attended by actress Angelina Jolie, who was made an honorary Dame Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George in 2014. She was pictured wearing an ivory Ralph & Russo dress with matching hat and gloves inside the cathedral.
The royal announced in 2016 that she will no longer be travelling overseas but still carried out 296 engagements in 2017, according to The Press Association. Her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, retired from public duties last year.
