AceShowbiz - It hasn't been long since Josh Duhamel started his romance with Eiza Gonzalez. However, the chemistry between the alleged lovers is so strong that the "Love, Simon" star is surprised himself by how well they connect in a such short amount of time.

"Josh has been taken totally by surprise by his feelings for Eiza, he didn't expect to meet someone this quickly that he would feel this way about," a source close to the actor says to HollywoodLife.com.

"When he split with Fergie (a.k.a. Stacy Ferguson), Josh presumed he would be single for a year or so, and was kind of looking forward to it, but then he met Eiza and everything changed," the source continues. "Josh really wasn't interested in anything serious, and at first they were just hooking up and keeping it casual, but he's really fallen for her in a big way."

Eiza reportedly has been very supportive of him and understanding that he needs to move slowly following his divorce from Fergie. "Eiza has been happy to go at Josh's pace, and hasn't pressured him at all--he loves how easy going she is, totally laid back and not demanding at all," the source goes on sharing.

"It's just easy with Eiza, it's like he's known her forever, and they have such a strong connection it blows him away. Despite not looking to get straight back into a relationship, Josh has really fallen hard for Eiza, he's crazy in love with her, and can already see himself getting married again one day," the source adds.

The pair were recently spotted out and about for a shopping date at Bloomingdale's in Los Angeles. The alleged couple dressed so laid back with the 45-year-old actor opting for a black tee, black pants and matching cap. Eiza, meanwhile, looked casual in a red long-sleeve crop top which she paired with high-waist pants.

In a photo circulated online, both looked in good spirits as the 28-year-old beauty linked her hand in Josh's arm and kissed his shoulder. "The pair seem smitten," an eyewitness said.

The "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton" star and Eiza sparked romance rumors in February, just 5 months after the former's split from Fergie. Josh "is head over heels for Eiza, but he felt guilty that he had feelings for another woman so quickly and he wants to be respectful to Fergie so he has kept this relationship very, very private," according to an insider.
