'I'm hoping to do it as a duet,' the Footloose singer shares.

AceShowbiz - Rocker Kenny Loggins wants to "reinvent" his classic track Danger Zone for the Top Gun sequel.

The song featured heavily in the 1986 movie and Tom Cruise wants Loggins to re-record it for the follow-up, which he has started shooting in San Diego, California.

The Footloose singer tells TMZ he's up for the challenge and has already reached out to a hot young act to revamp the tune with him.

"I'm hoping to do it as a duet," Kenny tells the outlet. "We have some feelers out to some pretty cool rock acts... We'll reinvent the song to a point."

But Loggins isn't naming names, adding only that he's talking to a solo act and a group - all males.

"They may wanna keep it a secret," he tells TMZ.

Meanwhile, the rocker is also hoping to make an appearance in the Top Gun sequel, adding, "I'd also love to do a walk-on on the movie, but that probably won't happen."
