AceShowbiz - Rapper Flo Rida has been dealt a legal blow in his child support battle after a judge denied his request for a dismissal on Monday, June 04.

Alexis Adams filed documents claiming she had sexual encounters with the Low singer between December, 2015 and January, 2016 and she fell pregnant with the couple's son, named Zohar Paxton. He was born in September, 2016.

Adams claimed Flo Rida, real name Tramar Dillard, refused to acknowledge he was the father even after taking a paternity test the following December, 2016. It proved 99.9 per cent the child was likely his.

According to Bossip, Adams is seeking an increase to her $8,000-a-month (GBP6,000) child support, so she can pay for a specialised nanny for their son, who she claims suffers from hydrocephalus, a build-up of fluid on the brain.

Flo Rida's lawyer attempted to have the case dismissed on the grounds that it is being heard in the wrong jurisdiction, claiming the lawsuit does not belong in a New York court because Adams lives in Georgia. However, her lawyer reportedly presented proof she is a New York resident and the judge sided with her.

He has yet to rule on Adams' increase request, but Dillard was ordered to submit his 2017 tax returns so the court can check on his income. He was also ordered to pay $10,000 (GBP7,400) for Adams' legal fees.

The former lovers are due back in court later this year if a settlement is not reached.
