AceShowbiz - Tragic country music icon Glen Campbell's life is to be turned into a new biopic.

The Rhinestone Cowboy singer's widow Kim Campbell revealed plans are underway for a film about her late husband's hellraising life and career during an Alzheimer's awareness event in Nashville, Tennessee over the weekend, June 03.

The singer lost his battle with the disease in August (17).

"They're working on it, you can say that," Campbell told TheBoot.com at the annual Dance Party to End Alz event, adding James Keach, who directed the 2014 documentary Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me, is a front runner to take charge of the project.

"He's a great filmmaker," Kim said, admitting that finding someone to play Glen would be quite a challenge.

"Glen's gonna be tough to cast," she added with a smile. "He's got some tough shoes to fill."

Keach also directed the acclaimed Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line.
