AceShowbiz - MGM has unveiled the first look at its upcoming animated movie, "The Addams Family". The first-look teaser previews the reboot's take on the spooky famly clan, which was created by cartoonist Charles Addams.

The photo sees the creepy, supernatural family assembling with Morticia taking the center while sitting on a big throne-like chair. She is joined by partriach and head of the family Gomez and his and Morticia's children, Pugsley and Wednesday, and Grandmama.

Also featured in the photo are Uncle Fester, who creeps behind the chair, the family's butler Lurch and Thing, the quintessential helping hand. Noticeably absent from the picture is hairy family member Cousin Itt.

The movie, which is helmed by "Sausage Party" directors Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan, has also revealed its voice cast members. Oscar Isaac and Academy Award winner Charlize Theron lead the cast, providing voice for spouses Gomez and Morticia. Chloe Moretz lends her voice for daughter Wednesday, while "Stranger Things" star Finn Wolfhard voices Pugsley.

The cast also includes Nick Kroll and Tony-winning actress Bette Midler. Nick is tapped to voice Uncle Fester. Meanwhile, Bette will voice Grandmama.

This animated action-comedy flick follows the Addams family whose lives begin to unravel when they face-off against a crafty reality-TV host while also preparing for their extended family to arrive for a major celebration, Addams-style. Allison Janney joins as the family's arch nemesis Margaux Needler.

"The Addams Family" is a satirical inversion of the ideal American family; an eccentric, wealthy clan who delight in the macabre and are unaware that people find them bizarre or frightening. Originally debuted as a cartoon strip by Charles Addams, it has been adapted multiple times, including the well-known television series in 1960s on ABC, a series of live-action films and a Broadway musical.

Vernon said, "Greg and I have always been a fan of the Addams Family in past versions, so when we set out to make this movie, we were excited to do something new. With that in mind, I drew from the brilliantly original Charles Addams New Yorker cartoons for the look of the film and decided to tell the story of how Gomez and Morticia meet, find their house and start their family. This unique approach is what drew me in to direct the film. The reimagining also extends to the stellar cast we've put together who will each bring their own spin to our film that will appeal to longtime fans of the Addams and introduce them to a new generation."

"The Addams Family" is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on October 11, 2019.
