AceShowbiz - Model Hailey Baldwin has shot down reports linking her to singer Shawn Mendes after they appeared to be an item at the Met Gala earlier this month.

Justin Bieber's ex thinks the In My Blood hitmaker is "super-lovely", but they are not dating.

In an interview with the U.K.'s The Sunday Times, Baldwin says, "We hang out and he's super-lovely and a very, very nice young gentleman, but I am single...".

Admitting the "dating pool is small" for her, Hailey, who was recently unveiled as the new face of Fendi, adds, "It's rare to find somebody that has the same ideas and morals as me. I have found people like that before, though, which is refreshing".

Mendes also recently confirmed he's single in an interview with E! News, stating, "The Met Ball was such an incredible experience for me. It was just overwhelming in the most incredible way. I was so lucky for my first time going there to be able to go with someone like Hailey because she's such a vet (veteran) and I really admire people like her because of how outgoing she is in such an overwhelming experience".

And shortly after the Met Gala, Shawn told W magazine, "We're really good friends".

The romance rumours began in October (17), when Shawn and Hailey were spotted holding hands at a Halloween party, and they were also caught cuddling during a visit to Mendes' native Toronto, Canada over Christmas.

Meanwhile, Hailey insists she has no hard feelings towards her ex, Justin Bieber.

The 21-year-old model split from the pop superstar in 2016, and admits time has helped them become friends again.

"Justin and I were friends for a long time," she explains. "I met him when I was really young and he was one of my best friends. Everybody knows that at a certain point in time that turned into something else, but that just happens when you're 18, 19. It was what it was.

"We went through a long period of time when we weren't friends. We didn't speak for quite some time and there was a lot of weirdness that went on. We've moved past that... We just work much better as friends. He's somebody I really cherish. Now it's a very mature situation. It's good".
