AceShowbiz - Rose McGowan is celebrating the impending arrest of disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein after accusing him of raping her in a Utah hotel.
The actress was among the stars who helped bring down the once-powerful movie mogul last year, following the publication of exposes about his alleged predatory behaviour.
But, unlike those with tales of sexual harassment and misconduct, McGowan was among the few who accused him of assault.
Hours after it was announced that Weinstein will be surrendering to authorities in New York on Friday, May 25 following a months-long investigation, the "Charmed" star took to Instagram to share her feelings.
"I, and so many of Harvey Weinstein's survivors, had given up hope that our rapist would be held accountable by law," McGowan wrote. "Twenty years ago, I swore that I would right this wrong. Today we are one step closer to justice.
"We were young women who were assaulted by Weinstein and later terrorized by his vast network of complicity. I stand with my fellow survivors. May his arrest give hope to all victims and survivors everywhere that are telling their truths."
More than 90 women have alleged harassment and sexual assault by Weinstein, who has denied all accusations of non-consensual sex.
A spokesman for the Manhattan District Attorney has told the New York Daily News, "Our investigation is in an advanced stage."
Officials working for D.A. Cyrus Vance, Jr. have spent months talking to key people involved in the investigation.
McGowan claims she was rapped by Weinstein in 1997 in his hotel suite after a screening of her film "Going All the Way" at the Sundance Film Festival.
