The rapper allegedly paid $85,000 out of his own pocket to secure the rights to a 2006 photo of the music icon's bathroom.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West has reportedly paid $85,000 (GBP64,000) so he can put a photo of Whitney Houston's drug-den bathroom on the cover of Pusha T's new album.

In a radio interview with Angie Martinez on Wednesday, May 23, Pusha T explained that producer and collaborator Kanye had called him the night before to explain he no longer liked the idea for the cover of upcoming album Daytona, and suggested an alternative.

"He (Kanye West) changed my artwork last night at 1am because he wasn't feelin' it," he said. "The (original) artwork was pictures that we all agreed on. He picked this photographer, we took these pictures... Great. We love it. Everything is good."

But Kanye had a change of heart and allegedly paid $85,000 out of his own pocket to secure the rights to a 2006 photo of Whitney Houston's bathroom, according to Hip-Hop-N-More.

The shot features drugs scattered throughout and spray-painted figures gracing the walls.

Kanye and Pusha T have yet to confirm the shot that features on the cover of the album is that of Whitney's bathroom, but the Stronger hitmaker has confirmed the project is coming out on Friday, May 25.

In a tweet written on Thursday, West wrote: "album 1 PUSHA T DAYTONA dropping 2mrw," and later added the album was recorded in Wyoming over "a year and a half".

"I really appreciate the overwhelmingly positive response that we've been receiving," the producer tweeted.
