Rumors of them dating first sparked after they were caught hanging out together at "SNL" after party on May 13, three days after she confirmed her split from Mac. Pete then was spotted together with the "No Tears Left to Cry" singer after she performed the song at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. A source previously revealed that their relationship is "very casual."

Another source recently told E! News that while the romance between them is recent, they "have known each other for years." The source added, "They have been in many social gatherings together in NYC and met through connections related to 'SNL'."
