The 'Wonder Woman' actress may star in 'My Dearest Fidel' about Fidel Castro and his professional relationship with journalist Lisa Howard.

AceShowbiz - Gal Gadot has signed on to produce and potentially star in a film about Fidel Castro and his professional relationship with journalist Lisa Howard.

My Dearest Fidel will be based on Peter Kornbluh's Politico article, My Dearest Fidel: A Journalist's Secret Liaison with Fidel Castro, and will centre on Howard's relationship with the late dictator and how it helped to reconcile relations between American and Cuban leaders following the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.

The film will be adapted by Chris Brancato and co-produced by Sue Kroll under her new production company Kroll & Co. Entertainment.

"When I first read Peter's article, I was entranced by his thrilling account of a complicated, fascinating woman in the midst of a high-stakes, real-life drama," a statement from Wonder Woman star Gadot reads. "I knew immediately that I had to be involved creatively with telling Lisa Howard's story, and am thrilled to be producing this film with Sue."
