Based on Agatha Christie's 1963 book, the three-part miniseries is set to begin filming next month.

AceShowbiz - John Malkovich will star as Hercule Poirot in the TV adaptation of Agatha Christie's "The ABC Murders".

The actor will headline the ensemble mystery for BBC and the streaming service Amazon. The three-part miniseries is based on the 1936 book and will also feature British stars Rupert Grint, Andrew Buchan, and Tara Fitzgerald.

"The ABC Murders is one of my great grandmother's most unsettling and intense stories and Hercule Poirot one of her most intriguing characters," said James Prichard, executive producer and CEO of Agatha Christie Ltd, in a statement. "I am humbled by the quality of cast we have lined up for the show and I am most excited to experience the unique approach John Malkovich will bring to the role in this thrilling one-off television adaptation."

Directed by Alex Gabassi, The ABC Murders will begin filming next month.
