According to law enforcement, the rapper's blood alcohol level was 0.15 at the point of his arrest.

AceShowbiz - Mac Miller was nearly twice over the legal alcohol limit for drivers when he was arrested for drink driving last week, according to TMZ.

The American rapper lost control of his white Mercedes-Benz G Class on 17 May in San Fernando Valley, California, ramming it into a power pole with enough force for the vehicle's airbags to deploy.

Miller, real name Malcolm James McCormick, fled the scene on foot with his two passengers but was later arrested at his home and charged with driving under the influence, and hit and run after police ran his plates and located his address.

On Tuesday, law enforcement sources told TMZ the Weekend singer's blood alcohol level was 0.15 at the point of his arrest, some time after the crash took place making Miller nearly double the limit. In California, 0.08 or higher is considered too drunk to drive.

The incident comes soon after the rapper's split with popstar Ariana Grande, who told the Donald Trump hitmaker to "take care of yourself" in a tweet following the crash.

Miller reportedly confessed to the charges he was arrested and had his bail set at $15,000 (GBP11,000).
