AceShowbiz - Oprah Winfrey left Stella McCartney speechless after publicly thanking the designer and her team for saving her royal wedding outfit.
Oprah was among the A-list guests at Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex's Saturday, May 19, nuptials, where she stood out in a blush pink double tiered dress by the English designer.
The outfit wasn't the media mogul's first choice - she had originally intended to wear a beige dress until she realised it photographed "too white" for a wedding, and she didn't want to upstage the royal bride.
Luckily, Stella and her team were on hand to make sure Oprah avoided the ultimate wedding guest faux pas.
Sharing a video that Oprah had uploaded thanking the Stella McCartney employees, the designer posted a message of her own.
"@Oprah... you are truly the most outstanding human. Speechless that you shared this gratitude with your followers... all at Stella McCartney bow down to your brilliance x Stella," she wrote on the label's Instagram account.
In the clip Oprah shared with her 14.4 million followers, the chat show legend didn't hold back with her praise: "I would like to thank the Stella McCartney team for working all night long to get this dress finished because we had dress-gate," she laughed. "Wrong colour! Now we've got the right colour. I think we're going to do OK. Thank you so much for the detail, and working all night. Thank you to the Stella McCartney team. Amen, amen, amen."
As well as making Oprah's dress, Stella also outfitted Amal Clooney for the nuptials. But the designer's piece de resistance was creating the white silk crepe evening dress Meghan wore to her wedding reception.
"I am so proud and honoured to have been chosen by the Duchess of Sussex to make her evening gown and represent British design," Stella gushed to WWD. "It has truly been one of the most humbling moments of my career and I am so proud of all the team on this stunning sunny royal day."
