During his acceptance speech at the Music Biz conference in Nashville, Braun urges country artist to help end gun violence by saying, 'If you want to be on the right side of history, help them.'

AceShowbiz - Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande's manager Scooter Braun is spearheading a new campaign urging country musicians and Nashville, Tennessee industry bosses to fight for gun law reform.

Braun was honoured at the annual Music Biz conference in Nashville on Thursday, May 17, a day before 10 people were killed in America's latest school shooting tragedy in Texas, and he used the event to urge country artists to help end gun violence.

"I know in this town a lot of artists are afraid to come out and have this conversation," Braun said. "My question for you is, 'Is selling records important?' Yes. But if you really want to be historic, if you want to be that artist, understand that these kids are 20 years away from being the next leaders, and they are going to change (gun laws). It is just a matter of time. If you want to be on the right side of history, help them."

Braun was involved in the recent March for Our Lives protest in Washington D.C. and helped organise students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida following a massacre there in February.

He referred to that tragedy, as well as Route 91 Harvest festival shooting in Las Vegas in October (17) as he spoke to CNN at the Music Biz conference, and added, "This town could really make a difference."

Braun's Music Biz conference honour came days before the first anniversary of the bomb attack on Ariana Grande's concert in Manchester, England.
