AceShowbiz - Since Meghan Markle's father is unable to attend her upcoming royal wedding to Prince Harry following his heart surgery, the bride-to-be will be having another person to walk her down the aisle. Kensington Palace announces that future father-in-law Prince Charles will walk to the altar with Meghan in place of her own father, Thomas Markle.
The palace announced on Friday, May 18, that the former "Suits" actress had asked the 69-year-old royal family member to carry out the duty in the last 24 hours.
"Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George's Chapel on her Wedding Day," the palace statement said. "The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way."

A royal source says that "it was Meghan's wish and she is grateful for the Prince of Wales to be doing it." Another source adds that Thomas is "honored and grateful" that the Charles will walk his daughter down the aisle in his absence.
This will not be the first time for Prince Charles to escort brides down the aisle. Back in 2016, Charles walked Mountbatten family heiress Alexandra Knatchbull down the aisle as she wed Thomas Hooper. The bride's great-grandfather, Lord Louis Mountbatten, was a close friend of Prince Charles.
In related news, Meghan looked stunning during a pre-wedding day occation at the Cliveden House Hotel on Friday night. The 36-year-old beauty was beaming in a Roland Mouret midi dress. The dress featured an asymmetrical neckline and gave a slight off-shoulder effect on one side. She paired the look with with light-gray suede heels.
She was not alone as she arrived with her mother Doria Ragland. She donned a cream dress with a black jacket and matching-colored heels.
Prince Harry and Meghan's May 19 royal wedding will be held at noon local time, which means it will start at 7 A.M. ET.
