Executive produced by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa ('Riverdale'), the dark coming-of-age series is titled 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'.

AceShowbiz - Finally, Netflix has announced the official title for its upcoming "Sabrina the Teenage Witch". Starring Kiernan Shipka as the titular character, the new series is titled "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina".

Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared the news on his Twitter account. "It's official! Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is our title! Something wicked this way comes," he wrote alongside a photo of Shipka in full Sabrina costume, a bright red top and a black hairband.

The actress was seen sitting on a chair that has "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" written on it while flashing a smile at the camera.

The upcoming dark coming-of-age series hails from Aguirre-Sacasa ("Riverdale") and Greg Berlanti ("Arrow"). It follows the origin and adventures of the half-witch, half-mortal in the vein of Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist.

"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina", which has been ordered for two seasons by the streaming giant, was originally set to air on The CW as companion to "Riverdale". The new adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile "her dual nature - half-witch, half-mortal - while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family, and the daylight world humans inhabit."

In addition to Shipka, the cast includes Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis and Ross Lynch. Otto portrays Aunt Zelda, while Davis is set to star as Aunt Hilda. Lynch plays Sabrina's boyfriend Harvey Kinkle. Joining them are Jaz Sinclair as Sabrina's BFF Rosalind Walker, Tati Gabrielle as her rival Prudence, Chance Perdomo as her cousin Ambrose, Bronson Pinchot as her villainous school principal George Hawthorne and Michelle Gomez as her possessed teacher Mary Wardell.

"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" is set to arrive sometime in 2018 on Netflix.
