The Maid in Manhattan' actor will play the composer who travels to Ireland to create a music piece for King George II.

AceShowbiz - Ralph Fiennes has been cast as composer George Frideric Handel in a new biopic. The "Spectre" star has signed on to lead the cast of director Chris Addison's comedy-drama "Hallelujah!"

Set to shoot in early 2019, insiders tell Deadline the movie will remind film fans of "Shakespeare In Love", which starred Fiennes' brother Joseph Fiennes.

Ralph will play a difficult Handel who has lost his muse. He becomes re-inspired after hearing actress Susannah Cibber sing as King George II asks him to write an oratorio. He and Cibber, who is on the run from her husband, travel to Ireland to create the piece.

This isn't the only biopic the "Schindler's List" star is working on. He is in post-production on his Rudolf Nureyev film "The White Crow". Busy Fiennes has also signed on to star in "The Voyage Of Dr Dolittle", opposite Robert Downey Jr.
