AceShowbiz - Officials at Bill Cosby's alma mater Temple University have rescinded his honorary degree following his sexual assault conviction. Cosby, 80, is still maintaining his innocence, but The Temple University Board of Trustees have since voted to rescind the Honorary Doctor of Laws degree, which he received in 1991.

"In 1991, based on his career achievements, Temple awarded an honorary degree to William Cosby," a statement reads. "Yesterday, Dr. Cosby was found guilty by a jury of the felony of aggravated sexual assault. Today the Temple University Board of Trustees has accepted the recommendation of the University to rescind the honorary degree."

Cosby attended Temple University before pursuing his comedy and acting career. He also sat on the Board of Trustees for 32 years until he resigned in 2014, following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

"The Cosby Show" star was found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault by a Montgomery County, Pennsylvania jury on Thursday, April 26 for his 2004 sexual assault of Andrea Constand. The accuser, a former Temple University employee, claimed the funnyman drugged and assaulted her at his home in the state.
