AceShowbiz - Paramount Pictures is going to revisit "A Quiet Place". The nearly-dialog-free horror film became a breakout hit when it was released earlier this month, so it's a no-brainer that the studio wants to capitalize on it by continuing the lore.

Speaking at CinemaCon on Wednesday, April 25, Paramount Pictures chairman-CEO Jim Gianopulos said that they're already developing a sequel to the John Krasinski-directed movie. "We're thrilled to say that we're already working on the sequel to 'A Quiet Place'," he told the crowd.

"If you told me five years ago that an almost silent film starring the very funny guy Jim from 'The Office' would have been a hit at Paramount, I would have said, 'Well, I should go work at Paramount,' " Gianopulos also said at CinemaCon.

The studio's executive, however, didn't provide any details about the sequel, including a release date and whether Krasinski will return to direct the follow-up movie. Krasinski also stars in the movie along with his wife Emily Blunt.

The high-concept dark thriller centers on a family who must remain absolutely silent to avoid being attacked by creatures attracted by noise. Bryan Woods, Scott Beck and Krasinski wrote the script. Woods and Beck have said that they have plenty of material left over when asked about a possible sequel.

"A Quiet Place" received acclaim from critics, who called it a "smart, wickedly frightening good time." Made on a small budget of around $17-21 million, it debuted to $50.2 million and topped the domestic box office, marking the biggest opening for a Paramount film since "Star Trek Beyond" in July 2016. It has so far grossed $134.8 million domestically and $213.3 million worldwide.

While it has not been confirmed if Blunt and Krasinski will return to star in the sequel, they have previously told EW they want to work together again. "We really, really do," Blunt said. "It would have to be the right thing, but if he would direct me, I could pop in. I don't have to be the lead!" Krasinski added, "It's definitely going to be hard to top this."

Krasinski is next set to direct sci-fi thriller "Life on Mars" for Paramount.
